Mission Ocean

Presented by Global Ocean Commission

WWF’s global marine programme works in more than 55 countries, across a spectrum of stakeholders and decision makers – from small fishing communities to the highest level of government. WWF works to ensure effective conservation that supports sustainable use of the marine environment, ensuring food security, sustainable livelihoods and political stability. In the context of the high seas, WWF advocates for setting up regional ocean management organisations to enable all ocean uses to be managed through an integrated ecosystem based approach, where all users are mindful of each other and the importance of a healthy and resilient ocean.

A Word from the Organisation

’The Commission’s recommendations reflect the growing consensus of what needs to be done to restore ocean health. There’s really no excuse anymore; it’s time to get to work.’
